Adobe named a Leader in Forrester's DXP report (Forrester Wave: Digital Experience Platforms, Q2 2019) Why audience should care: To keep pace with increasing customer expectations and drive business growth, you need to manage your customers' experiences from beginning to end. You need real-time customer insights, connected to solutions that deliver those experiences immediately. And just as important as technology are the people and processes you put in place. Supporting concepts: This is significant, because in the first version of this report in 2015 Adobe was the only (albeit just barely) leader. In the second version in 2017, Adobe has been demoted and Oracle was a leader. Our advancements with Adobe Experience Platform have certainly had a significant impact on our positioning this year. One of the key points highlighted for Adobe being a leader is the focus on enterprise-scale dynamic customer profiles and event-based integration and workflow. Adobe continues to expa

For traditional banks, competing in an increasingly digital business environment is a challenge. And its getting tougher on several fronts. First, todays digitally oriented customers expect banks to provide an ever-higher quality experience defined by speed and the flexibility to conduct business across many channels. Theyve grown accustomed to going online and transferring money between accounts, for example, and using their mobile device to make payments and check their account balance. These kinds of experiences have raised the bar in terms of customer expectations and banks need to keep up, or risk losing customers. This is particularly true of millennial customers, as they have little regard for loyalty, which banks have traditionally relied on to build their business. Once frustrated by inconvenience, they dont hesitate to switch banks and thanks to the internet, this is now a fast, painless process.

Retail has been transformed by technology in multiple ways, from the way customers interact with retailers to how products are offered and acquired. Indeed, the entire shopping experience has been redefined and expanded to enable customers to purchase products anytime, anywhere, with any device, from any number of retailers. Consumers changing shopping behaviors and their reliance on technology enables retailers to reach a wider swath of potential buyers, moving well beyond the borders of their physical store locations to new geographies and populations. The one thing these powerful brands have in common? Data. The growth of data has brought us to the tipping point between brand and customer. Before the digital age, the biggest and best brands had just that a brand, which THEY controlled. Now, a brand is powerful because of the data it collects and how it uses it to serve its customers. The value of data is only going to increase as we move from a handful of brands owning first-party data to a greater democratization of information. As a result, consumers will have much more control over their personal data and more companies will be able to generate their own first-party data. Once again, its time to look ahead to identify the trends and technologies that are most likely to survive the hype cycle and become the must-haves of the near future. The rate at which technology is evolving is increasing almost exponentially. In the business sector, hardware has given way to software-defined everything, while many on-premises technologies are now offered as a service. Much of the advances in technology over the last few years have been the direct result of the growing ubiquity of the cloud and faster connectivity speeds, both of which have enabled companies to adopt digital transformation technologies to help them work smarter and more efficiently.

For most retailers, the holidays are a frenzied rush of juggling multiple campaigns, meeting revenue goals, and hitting lofty numbers before the year is up. Its far from a relaxing time of year. The holiday season has become critically important to online retailers. With the rise of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Green Monday, Super Saturday, and Boxing Day, the definition of the holidays has expanded substantially. While these retail days have helped distribute the holiday rush across a wider range, theyve also made holiday campaign planning far more complex. Expanding digital channels, such as mobile and social media, have added to the immense opportunities that the holidays provide. Just last year, mobile accounted for 50.3% of all e-commerce traffic, surpassed desktop traffic for the first time ever. Knowing this, it shouldnt be a surprise that 38% of shoppers now say they will not return to a retailers website if its not mobile optimized.

"Customers in the midst of digital transformation look first to the public cloud when seeking dramatic simplification, cost, utilization and flexibility advantages for their new application workloads. But using public cloud comes with its own challenges. Its not always possible or practical for enterprises to retire their traditional, on-premises enterprise system still running the companys most mission- critical workloads. Hybrid IT a balanced combination of traditional infrastructure, private cloud and public cloud is the answer. But a true hybrid IT deployment must go well beyond the current generation of hybrid cloud systems, where the on-premises and off-premises worlds have largely remained siloed and still have to be independently managed. This paper seeks to answer how to bring those siloes together by identifying eight essentials that must be met to achieve the ideal hybrid IT implementation."

Many retailers have responded with a largely outdated omnichannel approach, focusing on integrating the physical and digital channels they use to interact with customers, when the problem is actually inside the business. Today's customers will remain loyal only if a brand offers them transparency and superior quality products while actively engaging with them to build a relationship they value. Meeting those needs has nothing to do with offering another physical, digital, or mobile channel and everything to do with running the business in a way that is customer-first and customer-centric.
