Tech advances like the cloud, mobile technology, and the app-based software model have changed the way todays modern business operates. Theyve also changed the way criminals attack and steal from businesses. Criminals strive to be agile in much the same way that companies do. Spreading malware is a favorite technique among attackers. According to the 2019 Data Breach Investigations Report, 28% of data breaches included malware. While malwares pervasiveness may not come as a surprise to many people, whats not always so well understood is that automating app attacksby means of malicious bots is the most common way cybercriminals commit their crimes and spread malware. It helps them achieve scale.

"Safeguarding the identity of users and managing the level of access they have to critical business applications could be the biggest security challenge organizations face in todays assumed- breach world. Over 6,500 publicly disclosed data breaches occurred in 2018 alone, exposing over 5 billion recordsa large majority of which included usernames and passwords.1 This wasnt new to 2018 though, as evidenced by the existence of an online, searchable database of 8 billion username and password combinations that have been stolen over the years (https://haveibeenpwned.com/), keeping in mind there are only 4.3 billion people worldwide that have internet access. These credentials arent stolen just for funthey are the leading attack type for causing a data breach. And the driving force behind the majority of credential attacks are botsmalicious onesbecause they enable cybercriminals to achieve scale. Thats why prioritizing secure access and bot protection needs to be part of every organ

There are many challenging tasks when developing autonomous driving features to cope with the various changes to the environment. Often lane markings are faded or are covered with snow or dirt and can be difficult for a camera-based detection system. In this report, VSI addresses the application of HD map assets to improve the safety and performance of automated vehicle features within the context of lane keeping and trajectories. VSI has been examining applications of HD maps in our test vehicle. In a previous report, we discussed map-based Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) using the advised speed attributes from HEREs HD map data. In this report, we apply HEREs HD map data to a lane keeping application and examine performance of lane keeping with a map-based approach compared to a camera and computer vision-based approach.

Todays security appliances and agents must wait until malware reaches the perimeter or endpoint before they can detect or prevent it. OpenDNS arrests attacks earlier in the kill chain. Enforcing security at the DNS layer prevents a malicious IP connection from ever being established or a malicious file from ever being downloaded. This same DNS layer of network security can contain malware and any compromised system from exfiltrating data. Command & control (C2) callbacks to the attackers botnet infrastructure are blocked over any port or protocol. Unlike appliances, the cloud service protects devices both on and off the corporate network. Unlike agents, the DNS layer protects every device connected to the network even IoT. It is the easiest and fastest layer of security to deploy everywhere.

"We live and surf in a cyber world where attacks like APT, DDOS, Trojans and Ransomware are common and easy to execute. Domain names are an integral part of any business today and apparently an integral part of an attacker's plan too. Domain names are carriers of malwares, they act as Command and Control servers and malware's ex-filtrate data too. In today's threat landscape - predicting threats, spotting threats and mitigating them is super crucial.. This is called Visibility and Analytics. Watch this on demand session with our Cisco cloud security experts Shyam Ramaswamy and Fernando Ferrari as they talk about how Cisco Umbrella and The Umbrella Research team detect anomalies, block threats and identify compromised hosts. The experts also discuss how effectively Cisco spot, react, filter out IOC, block the network communications of a malware; identify and stop a phishing campaign (unknown ones too). "

The stakes are high in today's data centers. Organisations have access to massive quantities of data promising valuable insights and new opportunities for business. But data center architects need to rethink and redesign their system architectures to ingest, store and process all that information. Similarly, application owners need to assess how they can process data more effectively. Those who don't re-architect might find themselves scrambling just to keep from being drowned in a data deluge.

Data continues to grow at an astounding pace? As a result, data center space is becoming more scarce, as more arrays are acquired to store all of this data. Along with this data taking up space, it is also utilizing a great deal of power and cooling. In fact, the average data center in the U.S. uses approximately 34,000 kW of electricity each year, costing $180,000 in annual energy costs. As Infinidat set out to revolutionize the storage industry, one of our goals was to help consumers of storage build a more sustainable infrastructure that would be not only better for the environment, but also help them to save money as well. All of our patents come together to form InfiniBox, a storage solution that does just this.

2017 and 2018 were not easy years to be a CIO or CISO, and 2019 isnt showing any signs of being easier. With so many career-ending-level data breaches in 2017 (e.g., Equifax, Uber, Yahoo, to name a few) and with the stronger regulatory requirements worldwide, CIOs/CISOs have a corporate responsibility to rethink their approach to data security. Regulatory compliance aside, companies have a responsibility to their customers and shareholders to protect data, and minimize its exposure not only to external attackers but also to employees. The most common method of data breach in 2017 was a phishing email sent to a companys internal employees (See 2017 Data Breach Investigation Report), This makes employees unwillingly complicit in the data breach. Over 80% of successful cyberattacks have a critical human element that enabled them. The average employee who opens the innocent-looking attachment or link, is unintentionally jeopardizing a companys data. While there is no 100% protection, th

Data is the DNA of modern healthcare. As healthcare technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, and patient data management and security evolve, emerging approaches for disease treatment and preventionlike precision medicine and healthcare content managementare becoming more necessary. Precision medicine is about moving from generic to more precise, population-focused diagnostics and treatment by factoring in data from patients genes, environment, lifestyle factors and family history, into clinical decision-making for earlier, more accurate diagnoses, and more effective treatment and prevention. Data is at the heart of enabling doctors and scientists to execute on this mission. Additionally, rapidly changing regulations throughout the world are affecting the management of all healthcare data. Component Content Management: A New Paradigm in Intelligent Content Services While technology has changed the world, the way that companies manage information has inherently stayed the same. The advent of near-ubiquitous connectivity among applications and machines has resulted in a data deluge that will fundamentally alter the landscape of content management. From mobile devices to intelligent machines, the volume and sophistication of data have surpassed the ability of humans to manage it with outdated methods of collection, processing, storage, and analysis. The opportunity afforded by the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has stimulated the market to search for a better way to capture, classify, and analyze this data in its journey to digital transformation (DX). The paradigm of document-based information management has proven to be a challenge in finding, reusing, protecting, and extracting value from data in real time. Legacy systems may struggle with fragmented information
